Seeking community members with skills to share and a willingness to work with middle school students in grades 5-8.


We are looking for fun and engaging classes with a wide variety of topics (sports, crafts, cooking, model UN, the list goes on...) Electives Classes are not limited to these interests. If you have something new or different to offer, not found on this list, please reply with it. New and original ideas are always welcome as long as they are appropriate for the age level and logistically feasible.

The following is a list of classes offered in past electives:

  • Film Study

  • Computer Animation

  • Coding

  • STEAM

  • Charcoal drawing

  • Up-Cycling art

  • Crochet

  • Ultimate Frisbee

  • Soccer 

  • Basketball

  • Dance

  • Run Club

  • Tae Kwon Do

  • Chinese language and culture

  • Gardening

  • Volleyball 

 

Students: Electives are offered to 5th - 8th graders. Classes are a mix of students in these grade levels.


Schedule: 

  • 8:25-9:30 AM Mondays -Thursdays

  • A class is held on a specific day of the week (not each day M-Th). For example: crocheting on Thursdays for the session 

  • We have 3 sessions per school year, each session is about 11 weeks.

Session 1: early September - end of November

Session 2: end of November - end of February

Session 3: beginning of March - end of May

Position Type: Part-Time (1-4 hours per week)

Salary: $35 Per Hour ($25 teaching + $10 planning)
